The Right Way to Install a Waterline

Here is the job we just finished it's a water line for a project we did last year. We can do an informational step by step process what we do which is different than other people.

  • A large trench is being dug in front of a house.

Step #1

We dig the hole down to 5 ft. (Because the frost line in this area of the country is approximately 42 inches), that is why we go deeper.

  • A man is standing in the dirt next to a house.

Step #2

Step #3

We install water line in bed of sand, then core drill through foundation. Running line from well or Street to home. Then we cement entranceway with waterproof cement (fast setting).

Step #4

We cover water line with at least 6 to 10 inches of sand. Its very important to a deeper top coat, because stones shift during the yearly cycle of freezing and thawing.

Step #5

We put magnetic tape over the sanded area, so that anybody getting ready to dig, can use ground penetrating radar to locate where the water line is. This helps to avoid rupturing the waterline, when they dig.

  • A white house is surrounded by trees and a gravel driveway.

Step #6

When we backfill hole; we are very careful. We compact and making sure that there are no big stones near the waterline.

  • A white house is surrounded by trees on a sunny day

Step #7

At the end we loam the disturbed area and Seed.
