Great job on difficult project with several unanticipated surprises like having to dig out a massive, initially invisible, prehistoric tree stump discovered right in the middle of where a stone foundation for a 14 x 24 she? d was supposed to go. Despite its massive size Dana kept at it for two hours digging down around it almost 6 feet before it finally gave way. Very satisfied with the work. Would hire again for future projects.

This year we decided to replace our small shed. This meant tearing down the old small steel shed, down to the base on which it stood, and building out the base to accommodate the new, bigger shed. But to do this, we needed some more sonotubes, filled with cement with 4x4s put into the ground. This was not something we could do ourselves. We got in touch with Dana Kiklis of Northeast Home Repair and Excavation, who had helped us in the past. He came to our home, saw what we were trying to do, and discussed options with us. We settled on having him drill additional holes into the ground, set the sonotubes into them and fill them with cement and 4x4s. Dana arrived with all the materials, tools (including a laser level), and the drill (12 inch wide auger bit - yikes!) and did a great job getting the cement tubes installed and set up correctly. It is wonderful to have a resource like Dana Kiklis to call on for tasks that are beyond our abilities. This is especially true during a pandemic when good help is so hard to get. Dana and Brenden did a great job giving me a useful backyard. I originally contacted Northern Home & Excavation to give me a foundation for a new shed and then asked if Dana could give me a level spot in the yard for an above-ground pool while he was here. In the end, I got a level backyard as well. They even redid some underground piping in need of repair. There were several roots and stumps to contend with and they successfully rid me of them. I hired Dana and his crew after he came out to my home and discussed a few details of what I needed done. We agreed on a price and Dana did not waste anytime and scheduled the job. Once he and his crew arrived they did not stop working for 2 days until the job was completed. I am extremely happy with the final result. I've had several people comment on the job and how solid it was. He built a nice 12 X 20 stone pad with 8X8 pressure treated wood. and filled with stone. I contacted Northern Home when it was recommended to me by the shed company I'm purchasing from in order to install a base on a sloped hill. I will say that I had a bad initial experience with a guy who dumped gravel and left and was reaching the end of my frustration in getting something done. Dana came out to look at the site and was immediately warm and professional. He listened to my concerns and thoughts on the work I needed done. He also looked at what the previous company did and found a way to at least incorporate the work into his design to help me not lose the money I had already invested. He left me feeling confident and relieved. A day or two before install I actually had to tweak the dimensions of the foundation. Dana rolled with the punches, walked through everything with me the morning of, and immediately set off to work. I was very impressed with how gracious he was when I surprised him with the changes. What impressed me the most was that it rained the entire afternoon and he and his team did not let up once. They left that night with a few more hours to do the next day and we woke up to snow. Dana was on time that morning and immediately got to work and worked non-stop in mid-thirties temps until the work was done. He absolutely takes pride in his work and didn't cut any corners even in miserable weather. I've dealt with many contractors and have been burned by plenty. Northern Home is none of those things. This will be the only phone number I call with any additional project in the future. I cannot speak more highly or recommend them more strongly.
